Full Name –

When Born –

Name was born on July 2nd 1939 in London to Name & Name.

When she was two years old, Name moved with her parents to a cottage in Preston Park. During their time there, her brother Fred and sister Jean were born. The siblings remember the long walks with their mum to and from Name school each day. It was a long way for little legs!

The family moved from Preston Park to 97 Hunting Street in Falmer. Richard was born here, and the house was, once again, filled all the fun that comes with having a baby in the house. At the tender age of two, little Brian became ill and, tragically, passed away.  It was a very sad time for all of the family.

Happier times returned to the house with the arrival of Jack four years later. He was quickly followed by Sue, then John, and finally Alison!

Seven was a lot of children for a small two-bedroom cottage. But they all somehow made it work. And the family all look back on their time in Lewis with fondness. They were happy times.

Richard remembers Friday nights when mum and dad would go to the local pub and leave Name in charge of the children. On one of these evenings, their friend, Name, came over and the children all decided to play hairdresser!

Name thought that Richard should be the model. She placed a pair of tongs into the fire to heat up. Then, when they were nice and hot, she started work on Richards’s hair. It was a disaster! His hair turned out so curly! Name was so worried about what mum and dad would say when they got home. The children all panicked. Then, Richard came up with the brilliant idea to wash his hair. But it looked even worse. He had a head full of frizz! Needless to say, Name was in hot water when mum and dad got home.

The family moved to a bigger house in Woodingdean near Lewes. But it wasn’t long before they were all back in Brighton. But it was Preston Park where Name was at her happiest as a child. It was her memories of the time spent there with her brothers and sisters that she cherished the most.

When they were older and had left school, Name and her sister, Name, went to work at the Marks and Spencers. This is where Name s met her future husband Name. What was it about Name that Name loved so much? Was it his handsome good looks? His kindness? The lovely twinkle in his eye? It was, of course, a combination of all of these things. But there was one more thing that scored highly in Name eyes. Name had a motorbike!

It was love at first sight (Name that is, and not his motorbike). Name and Name were soon married and went on to have three wonderful sons; Name, Name, and Name.

The family lived in Warren Crescent while the boys were young before eventually moving to Mace Drive.

It was while living in Warren Crescent that Name and Name met their neighbours—and soon-to-be lifelong friends— Name and Name and their two sons Name and Name.

The two families spent many years having adventures together. They went on holidays and trips together. They loved life and always had fun in each other’s company.

Name was a wonderful mother to her boys. She was always there for them. As Name got older, it was Name who taught him how to drive.

When the boys got older and were starting to lead their own lives. Name needed something to keep her busy.  The loss of the family’s beloved dog, Name, started a new chapter in Name life.

Name was devastated after losing Name. The family had always had a dog and the house felt empty without her.

Name had always wanted a Doberman. So, they decided to get one. And then another one. And then another one. Name was the first of six Dobermans that Name and Name would have in the years that followed!

Name fell in love with Name. She loved getting out and about with her and even started entering her into a few dog shows for fun. It was at one of these shows that Name met another of her lifelong friends, Name.

Name also had Dobermans and together, she and Name started entering more and more dog shows. Their hobby quickly transitioned from local dog shows to national ones. In the years that followed, the pair travelled all over the country showing their dogs.

They met many more friends on their travels including another lifelong friend and dog lover, Name.

Name became a grandmother in 19XX when her son Name partner Name gave birth to Name. After raising three boys, Name was thrilled to welcome a little girl into the family at last. She adored her grand-daughter. Name is now all grown up and has given Name four-great grandchildren; Name, Name, Name, and Name and has another baby on the way.

Name was always a hard worker. She had numerous jobs throughout her life including a dog food round and a pet food stall. At one point, she ran a little cafe in a kiosk at Preston Park. She sold her homemade cakes. She also served sandwiches and hot drinks and, in the summer, ice cream and lollies. Name loved running the kiosk. She especially enjoyed meeting new people and soon had lots of regulars. Unfortunately, the kiosk was broken into many times over the years and so she made the difficult decision to close it and retire.

When her dog showing and working days behind her. Name discovered and new and somewhat unexpected passion. Football! No, she didn’t play— Name loved spending Saturday afternoons with her son, Name, and daughter-in-law, Name, watching her beloved Manchester United play. At last, she finally had something in common with her three brothers (all are lifelong football fans). Name got quite invested in the game—and woe betide anyone who had a bad word to say about her team!

Name had a great sense of humour and loved to have fun. She loved family gatherings and parties and especially fancy-dress parties. She could always be counted on to join in a game of rounders at family picnics at Preston Park.

Name will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her as a warm, kind and loving person who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a devoted wife. A loving mum and grandmother. A fun aunt. A loyal friend. And she was a very special sister to her brothers and sisters.

She will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched. But she will be remembered, with love and gratitude, for the impact she’s had on us all.
